UC-II® (InterHealth Nutraceuticals) is a new patented ingredient - non-denatured (collagen is not heated or chemically treated) type II collagen derived from chicken cartilage cartilage and can help develop smaller dosage forms. UC-II is supported by four published clinical studies investigating joint comfort, mobility and flexibility. UC-II® is originated and manufactured in the United States by an NSF certified GMP device. It is both NDI (New Nutritional Ingredient Announced and Published by FDA) and GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) - It is safe to use and side effects are rare or mild and non-GMO (non-GM). Since its initial research, InterHealth has continued to provide systematic scientific support around this ingredient. The effectiveness, safety and quality of the UC-II® have been carefully studied. Controlled studies (RCTs) show that 40 mg of UC-II® once a day supports joint comfort, mobility and flexibility. UC-II® can be used alone or in combination with other joint well-functioning agents, such as glucosamine, hyaluronic acid and turmeric.
The cartilage is largely composed of type II collagen fibers. Oral supplementation improves joint well-being and keeps them moving longer.
Rosehip helps maintain joint function and overall well-being, and is also beneficial for the stomach, skin, and coat – a true health booster packed with vitamins C and E and fiber. Rosehip is effectively used to support and maintain joint mobility and health. Especially for dogs under heavy strain or elderly dogs, rosehip is an excellent addition to the diet. The active compound in rosehip is galactolipid, which plays a key role in maintaining joint health. Rosehip is exceptionally rich in vitamin C, which enhances collagen production. It also contains bioflavonoids, antioxidants, amino acids, glucose, beta-carotene, copper, potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, selenium, omega-3 fatty acids, fluoride, and vitamins A, K, D, B6, among others. In addition, rosehip contains pectin, a soluble fiber that promotes healthy digestion by lubricating the intestines. Its sorbitol content helps prevent excess stomach acidity and increases saliva production.
Tumericsrhizome contains curcuminoids, which give it its characteristic color and have anti-inflammatory effects. It is also rich in essential oils. Researchers have shown that curcuminoids can effectively reduce inflammation, supporting the traditional use of turmeric in folk medicine for treating rheumatism, arthritis, eczema, and other inflammatory conditions. Curcumin, the active compound in turmeric, has been used in the treatment of various joint disorders, which is why turmeric is often referred to as “nature’s cortisone.”
Cartilage tissue and synovial fluid contain a particularly high amount of hyaluronic acid, which absorbs water, thereby providing elasticity, and is important for the joint fluid and elastic properties. Hyaluronic acid acts as a lubricant and shock absorber in normal joints and relieves pain when it softens the joints. Hyaluronic acid is a normal ingredient in the joint fluid, which is reduced in inflammation. Hyaluronic acid lubricates the joint, maintains normal fluid balance, restores its function to normal and improves joint mobility. Hyaluronic acid is also an important building block for cartilage tissue. Jakke Collagen+HA includes hyaluronic acid 5000 mg/ kg.
